Kathryn Schroeder is a Bay Area ceramic artist originally from the heartland. She has exhibited with Bemis Center for Contemporary Art, The Weston Gallery, Northern Clay Center, Carbondale Clay Center, The Clay Studio-Philadelphia, The International Dinnerware Design Museum, Haystack Mountain School of Craft among others, and has presented at and exhibited with NCECA. Schroeder has been an artist-in-residence at Art Farm, Northern Clay Center, and Creighton University. She has received grants from United States Artist Awards, CERF+, Amplify Arts, and the Union for Contemporary Art and scholarships from Alfred University, a MFA graduate teaching fellowship from Illinois State University, and a graduate teaching assistantship from University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Her work has been published in American Craft Magazine and Studio Potter Magazine along with exhibition catalogues from NCECA and Bridges Trust. She earned her BFA from the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University and has been an educator in public schools, museums, a community college, and universities for the last twelve years.
